goMARTI: Grand Rapids, Minnesota

The goMARTI (Minnesota’s Autonomous Rural Transit Initiative) self-driving pilot is the result of a unique partnership of multiple groups with a shared goal of increasing accessibility and transportation options for residents and visitors in Grand Rapids, Minnesota.

More About Our Service in Grand Rapids, Minnesota

The goMARTI deployment covers 5.13 square miles and includes approximately 70 pick-up and drop-off points using May Mobility’s fleet of five autonomous vehicles, including three wheelchair-accessible, ADA-compliant vehicles. Riders simply request a free ride at a pickup location indicated on the May Mobility mobile app (with Apple & Google Play) or by calling 211 locally throughout most of the week and weekend during operational hours.

This on-demand program is brought in partnership with the Minnesota Department of Transportation, City of Grand Rapids, The PLUM Catalyst, Department of Iron Range Resources & Rehabilitation, Itasca County, Via, University of Minnesota, Arrowhead Transit, and Mobility Mania, among others.
