May Mobility offers public on-demand shared free rides and accessibility through the streets of Ann Arbor. Visit the Farmers Market in Kerrytown, The Diag, Michigan Union, 4M Venue, Yost Arena, or to the Amtrak train station. Riders simply request a free ride at a pickup location indicated on the May Mobility mobile app from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Friday.

Each vehicle will have an attendant. The Autonomous Vehicle Operators (AVOs) are on board to monitor the vehicle and intervene if there should be a need to do so. Additionally, they are present to help answer your questions and provide feedback that helps improve the service.
What safety seat requirements for children and infants are in place?
Yes, there are safety seat requirements.
Baby
All infants and toddlers should ride in a secure rear-facing car safety seat.
Toddler/Preschool
All children who have outgrown the rear-facing weight or height limit for their car safety seat should use a forward-facing car safety seat with a harness.
Elementary School Age
All children whose weight or height is above the forward-facing limit for their car safety seat should use a belt-positioning booster seat until the vehicle lap and shoulder seat belt fits properly, typically when they have reached 4 feet 9 inches in height and are between 8 and 12 years of age.
Middle School to Adult
When children are old enough and large enough to use the vehicle seat belt alone, they should always use lap and shoulder seat belts for optimal protection.
All children younger than age 13 should be restrained in the rear seats of vehicles for optimal protection.
What COVID-19 protocols are in place?
May Mobility is still requiring that Autonomous Vehicle Operators and riders wear a face mask in accordance with the Federal Transit Administration’s federal mask requirement for transit systems. As the public health guidelines around Covid-19 evolve, May Mobility will continue to make updates in order to provide the best and safest solution for riders and their Autonomous Vehicle Operators.
Can I ride in a May vehicle if I use a wheelchair?
Yes, you can ride in a May vehicle if you use a wheelchair. A wheelchair-accessible shuttle is available on demand. Please select in the May Mobility app that you need a wheelchair-accessible shuttle.
Our Autonomous Vehicle Operators announce when approaching your destination when requested to help individuals who have visual or hearing impairments.
I don’t have a smart device. Can I still ride with May Mobility?
Yes, you can still ride with May Mobility if you don’t have a smart device. Call 734.800.4608 to schedule a ride if you are unable to download the app.
Do the vehicles have bike racks?
No, there are no bike racks on the May Mobility vehicles.
What activities are prohibited in the vehicles?
Eating and Drinking – There is no eating or drinking allowed in the vehicles.
Smoking – There are no tobacco products, vaping, or smoking allowed in the vehicles.
Alcohol – Alcohol products are not allowed in the vehicles.
What luggage and storage space is available?
There’s limited floor space for bags and carry-on items. There is no trunk for storage.
